Easy and delicious!

I first used the starter culture a couple of years ago, when we were milking our goat. I had great results with the goat milk, and when we quit milking her, I liked making easy kefir so much, that I continued with organic whole (cow) milk from the store. I quit for a while, and started up again, a couple of months ago. I don't ever recall having a batch not work out. I'd say I have re-cultured 5-7 times from each packet. I typically let it culture for about 36 hours. Probably longer than most people do, but it works for me. I don't remember where I heard or read this, but I add a teaspoon of coconut sugar (and I use almost a 1/2 cup of kefir, rather than 1/4 cup of kefir from the last batch) and then fill the rest of the way in a quart glass jar with milk. I stir well with a wooden spoon, and put a coffee filter on top with a rubberband. About halfway through the culturing, I stir it again.
When first researching kefir, I considered using the grains, but that seemed like a process that would take over my life, and I find the culture powder to be so easy and reliable, that I am sticking with it.
Thanks C.F.H. I appreciate what you guys are doing.

Love how simple it is to make and keep the kefir going. Just what I hoped it would be.
