Guar gum is a natural thickening agent derived from the guar bean. It makes a great addition to gluten-free baking at home. Getting a good rise with gluten-free baking can be a challenge, but adding Guar Gum enhances these flours to help them take on the light, fluffy consistency of other baked goods.

How to Use Guar Gum Powder

  • Used with gluten-free flours to create lighter, fluffier baked goods
  • Add to sauces and salad dressings
  • Use to thicken homemade yogurt: For every 3-4 cups milk, add 1 teaspoon guar gum to a small amount of milk, heated and cooled to culturing temperature; mix well, then combine the small amount of milk with the larger portion of milk.
