Additional Details about Milk Kefir Grains

  • Milk kefir grains are dehydrated active cultures consisting of yeast and bacteria existing in a symbiotic relationship. Milk kefir grains need to be rehydrated using pasteurized dairy milk (not raw milk) before regular use. Once milk kefir grains are rehydrated, they can be transitioned to raw milk. Milk kefir grains can be used to culture coconut, soy, or rice milk once rehydrated, but must be rehydrated in dairy milk first. Milk kefir grains require regular refreshing in fresh dairy milk (as soon as the texture changes.)

Good

The kefir grains are good and make good tasting kefir. There was a very small amount of grains (less than expected) in the packet though.

Great Grains!

Been making kefir for about a month now using these grains, they produce a fizzy, tart and filling ferment that tastes far better than commercial kefir. I've done a double-strain of it in cheese cloth to produce a really nice chevre substitute and about to try compressing, aging and smoking it to make aaruul.

Amazing

I’ve loved making my own kefir. It’s easy ame delicious. It was making more than I could use So I put it in the refrigerator for a week, brought it back out and gave it fresh milk and the process started over again. So happy with my purchase
