Milk and water kefir

Very easy to use and foolproof

Powdered Kefir Starter

I like this product. I tried the crystals and found them to be messy and take too much fussing, although it was educational. In short, I appreciate the powder packets. And it is really nice not to have to boil the milk and then cool it before adding the starter.

Kefir water using juice

I tried making kefir water according to the directions and it didn't ferment at all. I used 100% cranberry juice (I looked all over on Cultures for Health website as to the type of juice to use but didn't find any information of what type of juice to use) because that is what was recommended (along with fresh lemon juice - which I didn't add this time because the directions didn't call for it - I will try another packet with lemon juice to see if I have better luck) when I make kefir soda with a different brand of kefir starter. I'm not sure why it didn't work. Since I've already paid for the starter packet, I will try again. Hopefully it will work this time.

Hi Lynette! I am so sorry to hear about the trouble you are having! If you could email into I will certainly pass it along to our team so they can assist.

OMG, Susan, don't throw any out!

The first review I saw was from susan stating she disguarded the first batch "like they said". I can only guess she didn't understand the instructions. Throw none away and use it all from the very start is all I can say to the misguided few who have been throwing out their 1st batch of keifer. Dont do it.

Wasted my money

Very disappointing product. Out of 4 packs only 1 made Kefir. Worse, I think of all the wasted milk. I'm an experienced cook, making everything from yogurt, to canned food to butter. Followed the recipe exactly. Really eager to have homemade Kefir but this product didn't deliver.
