What Our Customers Are Saying
I activated my sourdough starter over a year ago and it's still going strong and making delicious bread (and pizza crust, and crackers and pretzels!) I have so much fun doing this... Definitely recommend this product.
I purchased the Sourdough starter after many failed attempts to get one going on my own. The starter worked perfectly and the instructions are clear. Having a great time learning about the variety of things to make with sourdough.
I tried to do my own starter with no success. Eventually I decided to just buy the starter from this site, and it started working immediately. I'm not an experienced bread maker, and my first loaves turned out fantastic!
I've tried so many sourdough starters over the year, but this one is hands-down the best. I've been using it for a few months now and can honestly say, last week I made the best loaf of bread I have ever made, and that number is in the thousands.
I have been keeping an active culture in my Fridg for years off and on. I refer to it as “Mother”; people get a kick out of my needing to feed mother, or mother almost died. Anyway nothing I do produces the great odor of SF sourdough. I realize my SF sourdough’s odor will change over a long period of time. However, I recommend you purchace the SF Culture, it is premium stuff.
Delicious. What I remember growing up in SF! Highly recommended.
I have made 3 loafs of bread with SF Style starter. The bread came out good, but no more "sour" than the generic starter I have used in the past. This may be a problem with technique so I have been trying to incorporate the tips from the Cultures For Health website. If I get the sour taste I was looking for, I will send another review.
Great starter. Have some tweaking to do, but I see a great potential for my sourdough repertoire.
Followed all directions but mother found moldy in thirty days. Please credit my account. I order a fresh mother and its working fine.
