What Our Customers Are Saying
A great yogurt for anyone. Not too tart or too runny. I had made this yogurt for about 6 years from the original starter, but I accidentally got it to hot and killed it. I recently bought new and it is happily making batches of great tasting yogurt. Customer service is very helpful talking you through the activation process.
Love the tart flavor to this. No more commercial made yogurt for me. Love the heirloom part of this so I always have culture ready for the next batch of yogurt to be made.
This Bulgarian starter is amazingly delicious and easy to culture. My first batch did not thicken super well but that was expected for the starter. The second batch was beautiful and firm. Worked within about 4 hours. I used a nice little yogurt maker and followed the directions verbatim. I recommend this starter for newbies and the taste is just wonderful. Not too tart, creamy and good.
I ordered the Bulgarian yogurt culture because the description said it was mild and creamy, and they weren't kidding! I've made about half a dozen batches now, and after culturing I strain to remove extra whey. The end product is so creamy and delicious it's hard to stop eating!
This yogurt is so delicious and much thicker than I expected. Even the activation batch thickened beautifully. I didn’t follow the activation instructions though. I just used the settings on my instant pot, making it directly in the inner pot. It comes out great every time. My family loves it.
Makes delicious yogurt. I use whole milk and my InstaPot to get creamy, thick yogurt with a perfect tang!
I've tried making yogurt from store bought yogurt before. The finished product always had an odd taste to it even though it contained live active cultures. I decided to try an actual starter this time. I'm so happy I did. The yogurt had no odd taste and tasted wonderful! The consistency is more slimy than yogurty, but I'm hoping it improves with subsequent batches as the cultures have more time to proliferate. If not, oh well, I'm happy with the taste and can live with the slimegurt if need be. :)
As mentioned, first batch of yogurt was like thick slurry and took 8+ hours to set in InstaPot... but second and third batch were not only scoop-able and thick but ready in 5 hours. The yogurt is mild and creamy to eat... now I am very comfortable making yogurt home. Just add 1 tbsp culture for every 500-800ml of whole or 2% milk( boiled & cooled to ~110F). My husband loves it too.
I love this yogurt, it’s mild, soft consistency, and easy to make. I don’t have a yogurt maker, so I just heated up the milk, and cooled it in a glass jar. I placed the glass jar in my dehydrator at 110 and it turned out beautiful. I’ve been making it with a few spoonfuls of the previous batch ever since.
